Robert Johnson says:  Robert's inner struggle with his own identity manifested in two forms: the devil and women. "Stop Breaking' Down" is an expression of the latter. Robert Johnson's life-long propensity towards lustful pleasures followed him like a cold wind. Never wanting to leave a footprint in the same spot, he was always moving on to a new town, a new bed, and a new woman. His plea in this song for women to stop their consent of his charming advances almost always fell flat - like a note dropped by an inexperienced musician.
