Fear Of Rejection
pop, rock
I got this Linda Brady song in the mail, on a cassette, from my mother, who knew her mother, back home in Baltimore, Maryland. They were fellow artists, who got to talking about their kids. I always hate having to deal with friends or relatives music referrals. So I was so shocked, that I loved "Fear Of Rejection." I listened to this poignant song recorded on a condenser mic tape machine of Linda accompanying herself over and over enjoying it, in disbelief. How could your mother find a gem like this? I got over it, and Linda came out to Berkeley that next year to record a CD. This was the song that convinced me to do it. - Matthew
One Size Fits All
pop
This song about paradoxes wasn't even going to be recorded. Linda Brady regarded it as a "ditty." She only sang it after Larry Lynch, Robbie Dunbar, and Jim Thorsen (the band we used on the recording) insisted. Linda appeased all of us and sang brilliantly. The juxtaposition of words and the inflections of her voice make this much more than a ditty. It's super sophisticated singer/songwriter. The arrangement and brevity only add to the integrity of the song. No B.S. here! Tom Size did a great job recording this track at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley.
