My first playlist is dedicated to my friend and co-worker Gary Phillipet. He created quite a stir when I first met him. He left Marin County and Copperhead, a popular Bay Area band with Quicksiver lead guitarist, John Cipollina, that had a major label record deal. To everyone's amazement he joined an East Bay heavy metal band Earth Quake, who were just starting their own fledging label, Beserkley Records with me. It was truly Beserkley's gain. He was either an artist, vocalist, writer, arranger, or co-producer on Beserkley's most successful recordings. He was a player member of two of the most famous Beserkley bands (Earth Quake and the Greg Kihn Band), and he was co-producer of another (The Rubinoos.) He helped in the mixing of the original Modern Lover's Lp. He even added some guitar to the 1st Talking Heads demo. He was liked by everyone.
