    About

I would give anything to live the life Jelly Roll Morton lived. I mean he was a bad MOFO! He played piano in the whorehouse of Storyville; he worked as a gambler, a comedian, a pool shark, and (of course) as a pimp. Can you imagine what this man's day to day affairs looked like? I may be romanticizing his life a little bit, and maybe he was a lonely and highly disturbed man. Most likely though, he was a lustrous character who had a huge cultural impact, and is widely understood to be the true creator of jazz music.
