Common Rider was a band formed in 1998 by Jesse Michaels who was a veteran of the late punk/ska group Operation Ivy. The recording and touring version of Common Rider eventually resolved to include Mass Giorgini and Dan Lumley who were veterans of the groups Screeching Weasel and Squirtgun. At various other times the band included guitar help from Philip Hill (The Teen Idols, The Queers, The Independents, others) and Zack Damon (Zoinks, Big in Japan, Squirtgun). Initially started as a one-off recording only project, Common Rider went on to release a second album and be featured on the "Plea for Peace" tour in 2003.
Common Rider incorporates melodic punk rock and Rock Steady influenced rock-reggae. The band broke up in 2003 for geographical reasons (the members lived in different states) but their two albums continue to please fans world wide.
